We hold a walking event (several kilometers) every month as we have Global Studies Café in Kosei, Okazaki as a starting point.

The purpose of this event is not just walking but to learn the origin and history behind the destination (a temple or a shrine related to Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu).

The other day, we visited 伊賀八幡宮 “Iga Hachimangu Shrine” where Shogun Ieyasu is said to have visited to pray for victory. The event always includes a program enabling the participants to talk with the chief priest of the shrine. We heard about the deep history of the shrine and the passion people poured in to build this wonderful architecture.

After walking, we had coffee and delicious quiche at the café. If you ever thought of going for a walk for the good of your health, why don’t you come join us?
