Japanese calligraphy and tea ceremony experience!

We offered calligraphy art experience and tea ceremony to visitors from the United States today. The calligraphy is called 己書　(Onoresho– Artistic and free style calligraphy) . Instead of using the traditional brush, the teacher used a calligraphy pen. Three of them practiced several times and then wrote on postcards. Their artworks were all great!

After the calligraphy, we moved to one of the confectionary shops in Okazaki and had a tea ceremony performed by the tea master. I explained the traditional rules and manners of the ceremony in advance, and three of them were excellent!

I felt happy to have them today as they told me how much of a wonderful time they had throughout the day.
